Question about portraits. Not sure if it goes here.

I didn't see where to ask furc-related questions, so if I missed something, feel free to move this.


But ever since I joined furc back in, like... 2001? I've wondered about the portrait approval process.

1. Who approves them? DEP staff or volunteer Beekins?

2. What stops the people who are approving your portrait from stealing the artwork?

3. Is there some sort of massive site or email that all the portraits get sent to for approval?

pretty sure there's a staff that approves the ports, and a lot of them have been playing the game since it's started years ago. if they were caught stealing they'd be out of a job.

Another question: Rough estimate of how many people work portrait approvals? Portraits seem to take forever to approve now, versus a few years ago where it'd only take 2-10 hours.

Depends when you upload them. Sundays-Mondays are usually their days off so if you're expecting a port to be approved then it might not happen.

Since there are far less staffers now port uploads can take anywhere from a few hours (if you're lucky) to a few days.

As far as I know there might be 1-3 people who approve ports. Really just depends.

iirc the portrait approving staff is also a lot smaller now.
so that could be another thing contributing to slower approval times.

I only knew of three people on that staff and while they were around, portraits used to get accepted within a day or so.

Now they've resigned and things are a lot slower.
